100 Posts Blog Party and Giveaway!

*This Giveaway is now closed*

I made it! 100 posts! Happy 100 to me! And to you too. Because you get to benefit from it. I am having a little giveaway to celebrate!
Remember that Austrian/ Japanese quilt I'm making? Well, when I bought that Hideaway charm pack, I bought two. So one of you gets the extra one!
And you never know what I might add into the mix. I may add to it or pick a second winner. We'll see! This giveaway starts today, Tuesday, June 28th.

Here's how to enter:
1. Leave a comment. I've had kids on the mind lately. So if you have any, tell me the funniest thing your kid has ever said (Personally, my 5 year old son's new favorite phrase is ,"Well, that's awkward!").
2. Become a follower, or let me know you are one by leaving a second comment. If you tell me both things in one comment, that is only ONE entry!

That's it! I will leave the giveaway open until 6:00 pm (EST) on Friday, July 1st. I will use random generator to pick one lucky winner at that time.
US and Canada shipping only guys, sorry!

I am leaving for my sister's on Saturday for a few days but I will be taking my laptop with me just in case. That way I hope to be able to get your address and send it out ASAP!
Good luck everyone!

I forgot to add, if you are a no-reply blogger, please put your email address in the comment section. I already have one of these, so Homeschool Mama, please make sure I have a way to contact you if you win!

  1. I am a follower. We have a lot of fabrics in common and it's so cool to see what you do with them. Congrats on your 100th post.

  2. My son has a speech delay and doesn't say many sentences yet. What is funny is that he can really "talk" to delay his bedtime. He won't put words together all day and right before bed he can say a bunch of words together--and it works! I let him stay up five more minutes. He did this early on... For example at 11 months old he would use sign language and sign "More milk please mama." He knows what he's doing...

  3. congrats on 100 posts! my kids were always saying to me in the car while I was driving - look at this mom - look what I did in school etc. On the way home one day my younger son said - mom could you take a look at this and use the eyes you have in front of your head? Thanks for the lovely giveaway!

  5. A few months ago, I said to my daughter who just turned four "Soph, you are making me cuckoo."
To which she replied "Then my job here is done."

  6. It's kind of gross, when my son was about 3 he farted and said "excuse me, I have kitties in my butt" I have no idea why unless he thought it sounded like a meow. He is 7 now and we still mention that from time to time.

  9. Congrats on 100 posts! I don't have any kids of my own but I do spend time with my friend's little girl. She likes to take something from my bag/table. When I say.."Hey! That's my ___!" She gives it back and goes "Case closed."

My 4 year olds latest favorite word is "hilarious" which, with his 4 year old lisp always sounds like Hiwarious!! It makes me laugh!!

  15. My kids are 5, 3, and 1....something funny, well my 5 yr old likes to tell this joke

    How do ducks fly?

    they just wing it

    and then she says

'get it, wing it' (forced laughing)

    she's a hoot :)

    Thanks for sharing.

  18. In the car on the way to Miami to the Miami Aquarium, my kids kept calling me, "Mama...Mama...Mama." We had already been in the car all day a couple of days before, to get to my brother's house in Boca Raton, and we were all over the driving by now. I've had enough of the car and the hollering my name,so I tell the kids that my name isn't Mama anymore. There were a couple of minutes of silence, then I hear my 14 month old say "Misty!" How could I not laugh and respond to the question she wanted to ask?

  19. My 5 year old was playing with his playmobil pirates last week and all of the sudden we heard him say in pirate voice, "You scallywag, you, give me back my treasure." We still haven't figured out where he learnedthe word scallywag.

  20. No kids here just dogs who are very depressed because their grandma just left them to go back to her house.

  21. I have 4 grown kids so many funny thing have been said--too bad I can't remember them all! Our one son is named Jim but when he was ornery I would call him his first and middle name--James Michael. I cracked up when one of our other sons was mad at another brother and said "You James Michael You" as if is was a bad word!

  23. One evening I asked my husband a question, his response was "I haven't got a clue." Kiddo chimed in with "Papa, find a clue!" (Hubby and the boy watch way too much Scooby Doo!)

  24. My little fella recently asked me to put some Bananadryl cream on his bug bites so they would stop itching! ;) Love it!!!

Congrats on the milestone and thanks for a fun giveaway!

  25. Mine arn't quite talking yet, but "E" always says uh-oh. Recently while driving hubby had to brake dramatically for a red light, and as she tilted forward in her seat (as much as they tilt while strapped securly) she said "uh-oh"... the whole car was laughing. Maybe she will have better comedic timeing than I do, LOL!

  26. Oh how I love Hideaway! I don't have any kids, but I do have 2 nieces. I'm constantly entertained by photos and videos of them, plus the occasional Skype call, as they live in CO and I live in IN. My most recent favorite video is of them dancing in their car seats to Michael Jackson's "Don't Stop Till You Get Enough."

  27. No kids here, but it's been fun reading what everyone else's kids say. :)

  28. The scene: my 3.5 year old daughter farted.

Daddy: G_________, what do you say when you toot?
    G: WHO CUT THE CHEESE??
Daddy (stifling laughter): I think you mean, "Excuse me."
G: Excuse me, who cut the cheese?

  29. My 4 year-old daughter and I sat near the front of the church on Sunday, so after the service we took the front door with a set of steps outside instead of waiting to exit out the back. She was confused and asked what we were doing, so I told her it was the 'shortcut' way out. She must not have heard of a shortcut before, because in front of a crowd in the parking lot, she raised her hand and said loudly, "That's hilarious!". It was a very overdramatic hand-motion involved and very comical to those seeing it. It put a big smile on my face.

  31. My grandniece comes out with some funny ones. One of her favorites when she decodes that she doesn't want to eat something she had begged for - "that's nasty!" or put her hands on her hips and says "that's sooooo ri-di-cu-lous" -- and the other one is just as kookie as she has named her new-to-be-born-in-August sister "Bob".
    Thanks for the giveaway.
Blogger is giving me some problems so cannot complete a "follow" request.

  35. Kids sure keep one humble. When my son started talking, he mixed up a lot of letters, and only I and my daughter could understand him. With time it got better. One day a delivery man came, and he asked him "What color is your truck?" Except that it came out "What color is your butt?" So embarrassing.

  36. So I don't have any kids but I simply find it HILARIOUS when they cry and run in fear from just seeing someone. I've found that it usually happens with bigger men but I always get a good chuckle. Is that mean?

    ReplyDelete
  37. When daddy gets home my 2 year old son greets him with a "Dude! - whoa!" (I think he got it from the turtles on Finding Nemo), but wherever he got it from it makes my husband so happy to be home every time.

    ReplyDelete
  38. So many of your readers have such "cute" anecdotes. My son was raised in an unpolished military environment. The language those men could use! So it wasn't too much of a surprise that, at two years old, my son tripped and fell on his knees, promptly stood up, very purposefully and dramatically brushed off his knees, put his hands on his hips and declared "Son of a _____".

  40. That's funny because my 5-year-old also likes to say "Awkward!" in a high-pitched, sing-songy voice (he heard someone say it like that on tv) I can never remember later on the funny things my kids say. I need to write them down!

  49. Well--this isn't the funniest thing ever--but today, I apologized for calling one of my children (the 4 yr old) by the wrong nickname, and said that I just have so many children I can't keep the names straight sometimes (it's true--I have 5). And she said, "No, Mama! You don't have a lot of children! You only have 5!" : ) She also sang "Hopscotch Buns" all afternoon. (hot cross buns : )) I love that kid!

  50. I have three sons with families of their own so I will share what my three year old grandson said to his mother . She apparently was busy and not paying attention to him so he called her by her first name which got her attention and she asked why did you call me Lisa and he said because calling you Mommy just wasn't working . Pretty smart kid ;-0
Thanks for the chance at your great giveaway.

  53. Awkward child sayings.. once my daughter asked mommy why does that man have only one leg.. and we were standing right next to the man. I said, I dunno sweetheart. we will have to ask him. It wasn't a week later we saw a man with a patch on his eye.. she asked mommy look a pirate!! Of course.. he was right next to us.. I could have shrunk into the grass.

  54. It is a long story for another day, but the funniest thing my 5-yr-old has said lately is, "Daddy, I'm wearing Mommy's underwear." (trust me, there was a good reason). Thanks for the chance to win!

  55. Congratulations on the 100th post! That Hideaway reminds me of the semester I sent in Austria during college!

My son is only 2 and not speaking in full sentences yet. Last night my DH had a sneezing fit that lasted about a minute. My son wanted to be just like daddy so he got a tissue and proceeded to sneeze (or at least try to sneeze) just like Dad.!

  56. First off - Congrats on your 100th post.

Second - I wish you could visit other bloggers and see comments I've left on their blogs when they would ask "What is your favorite fabric"? I lived in Germany for seven years, and this fabric reminds me sooo much of Germany. I keep saying I'd love to own some. So it would be awesome for me to win some!!! Thanks for the giveaway.

Third - one of my twin daughters was in the back seat as we were on our way down to south Georgia. We were passing some pastures with cows (with associated smells from those pastures). My daughter said, "Ew, Mom, do you smell all that cow maneuver?" (instead of cow "manure")

  60. When my now 24-year-old daughter was about age 3, she and I were walking down a hill in our backyard while I was carrying her in my arms. I slipped, and we tumbled. I managed to keep her from getting hurt, but I was a little bruised. When my husband came home, my daughter, with eyes widened, excitedly cried, "We fall-led dow-win." As she repeated the phrase, with added syllables for emphasis, she animatedly matched her lower jaw movements to the drawn-out "dow-win." We still utter that phrase in that manner on occasion.

  61. When my son was very, very young and learning to speak, he would see animals and say, "Open - teeth"!

  63. I don't have kids, but my mother tells a story about me. I was little and she was teaching me to wash my hands when they got dirty. I would say 'dirty hands, have to wash them' when my hands were a mess from playing in the dirt. One day I saw my first black man, on an elevator, and turned to my mom and said 'oooh, look, dirty hands, he should wash them'. She nearly died trying to apologize and explain lol. He laughed and understood - I was only about 3 at the time. She said we had a long talk about differences that day! VermontPines@aol.com

  70. When my niece was 2, and I was pregnant, she asked about the baby in my tummy. She then turned to my father (who was very overweight) and asked about the baby in his tummy. He even laughed about it. Thanks for the giveaway. Come visit my blog and enter my giveaway.

  71. When my kids were younger (my son was 6 and my daughter was 3) we were out doing some shopping with my mom and sister. We were talking about where we were going to stop at next, when my son tells us he wants to go to Toys R Us. I told him we didn’t have time to stop that day, he then proceeds to tell us all that we are ruining his life. That is when my daughter pipes up and says, “You don’t have a life.” She was just as serious as could be, and we couldn’t help laughing. My kids are now 14 and 11 and still laugh when we talk about that day.

  74. My 3 year old daughter saw a man on the motorcycle driving by. His shirt was flapping up with the wind, showing his back (which was attractive). My daughter asked why it was flapping around and I explained, then joked that I didn't mind because he was cute. Bea said, "Yeah he is, and he doesn't have hair on his back like daddy."
