Sew Mama Sew has been running a modern BOM for a few months now. You can find all the blocks posted on my Pinterest board here or you can check them out on the website. they even have a great flickr board for it.



Also, keep an eye out on Sew, Mama, Sew for their annual Giveaway Day in May. I haven't seen a post about it yet but it should be coming up soon. They posted about it last year on the 3rd so we should be hearing something soon.

As of today, Ellison Lane Quilts is starting a Summer Sewing Contest. Go here to check it out. Lots of great prizes and you end up with something cool to use for the summer!

Last but not least, don't forget the Blogger's Quilt Festival over at Amy's Creative Side. That starts in just two weeks so make sure you have something to show!

New Meaning to Being TP'ed!

QuiltJane has a wonderful little contest going right now. It seems that she has decided to look away from all the mug rugs and bags that have overwhelmed the quilty/bloggy world and dress up another part of our environment; the powder room! She is challenging everyone to create a toilet paper roll cover; be creative! She offers a tutorial on her site but I don't think you are limited to just using it! All the rules can be found on her site, but the great prize is a $100 Fat Quarter Shop gift voucher! If you are from Australia, you can also win a gift certificate to QuiltJane's shop or a lap quilt quilted by her; now why do I live in the US?

This contest goes through March 7 so you still have time to jump in!

And as far as progress goes in this household (yes, I know I didn't mention progress before but, what the hey?), I am about 1/4 of the way finished with the machine quilting on my Embroidery 101 quilt! I started yesterday and made it from the middle over to the right and I just rotated it so I can go from the middle and get the left side. I hope you're quilting, Jennifer, cause I may beat you!

Quokka Quilts/FQS Contest!

Quokka Quilts is holding a great contest. Follow the link to all the details. They are encouraging bloggers and others to pick 12 prints and 3 solids from Fat Quarter Shop to create your own version of a "Blogger's Bundle." Hereis the mosaic of the fabrics I chose. Initially I tried to just look for fabrics to which I was drawn. Then, as the color scheme started coming together, I started to get a bit more specific. It's funny; the three solids I chose come from three completely different lines but play well together!

Now, you knew I was going to choose some green!
