Sorry that left side flapped a bit. Her arms are only so long! I kept the back simple, though it's really hard to see the print of this from far away. And the colors are brighter in person.
Here's a close-up of the back so you get a better idea of what the fabrics look like. See? Really hard to tell that it looks like this up close.
And here is a close-up of the front.
The front of the quilt is done in Dogwood Trails by Moda and Kona Unbleached White. The back is done in two Free Spirit fabrics, one of which was also used to bind the quilt. I initially planned on FMQ for this one but ended up pulling it out when the new machine was making some eyelashes on the back. I ended up using straight line stitching throughout which was actually a bit easier to do on a home machine with a larger size quilt.

That looks fabulous Melinda. Love the quilting lines on it too. Lucky you to have a tall friend to hold the quilt up. The best I can do is get the dog to sit on it to stop it blowing! Thanks for linking up!
Oh!!!! It is so so pretty! I love the design! You rock! It is wonderful! I can't wait to see #2!!
Yea! One down, one to go! Pretty!
Woo hoo! Congrats on a beautiful quilt, Melinda. I love that design -- it's like the quilt boxes are floating on the background. It's too bad the FMQ was giving you issues, but I think the straight line quilting suits your quilt beautifully! Your friend will love this quilt! Yay for linking up to TGIFF! too!
I just have to tell you that this turned out fantastic. YOu did a fabulous job. You deserve a treat for finishing this one.
And I also have to tell you that I've been thinking about this quilt so much, and I love Dogwood Trail so much, that I finally got around to buying some for myself. I got it ordered on Wed and it should be here next week. Of course I don't have time at the moment to start on the quilt I'm going to make with it, but at least I will have it before it disappears from shops completely.
Yay- one down one more to go! It looks great. :)
great looking quilt!
How lovely!! Such good colour choices. The recipient is certainly going to love this little quilt!
So pretty!! Glad you took the close ups, really shows off the fabric. It looks great on the rock too ;)
