Hooking up with Lee again this week to see what everyone is up to!
Ongoing Projects:
Embroidery 101: This project is nearing its end. The end date for posting a final quilt is 10/26 so I am wrapping it up. I finished block 8...
and I have begun putting together the top. I know it looks crazy. I'm doing white sashing with little blocks in the corner of each block. I'm using my leftover scraps for the little blocks
String quilt: I actually finished this top!
I may add some borders or another row to make it larger.
I also did a tiny bit of work on my red and white hexie but not enough to even show.
New projects:
I am playing with some ideas for new bedding in my bedroom. I had an Amy Butler bundle from one of her previous lines but I'm thinking I will need more if I end up replacing curtains and pillows as well. So I dropped by the LQS and picked up some Soul Blossoms. Just not sure they'll mix enough to really like. I'm thinking I may have to pull out one or two of the original fabrics and use them for something else. Then I may need to add a few more of the Soul Blossom fabrics to even it back out.
Not sure it's working for me. Very undecided.
Completed:
I finished a donation quilt this week. That was my only completed quilt.
No progress:
Bottled Rainbows: My pink block still sits where I left it.
Skill Builder: I have not done my block this week. Definitely need to get to work on that one.
And of course, what post would be complete without a "my kids are so goofy" story. Got one fresh off the presses for you; this was the conversation my son had with me when he came in my room this morning (he had already been awake with his dad for a while).
Son: Mom, guess what? I've already gotten three things done this morning already!
Me: Wow, really? What have you done?
Son: I've already gotten dressed and I already ate breakfast!
Me: Whoa! That's great. What was the third thing you did?
Son: Well, I haven't done the third thing yet.
My house is like comedy hour every day!

Your son is hilarious. I love when my daughter comes out with a very matter of fact, completely wrong, statement and I can't help but laugh - she's only 2 though - I'm sure her comments will get crazier as time goes on!

I can't wait to see your Embroidery 101 quilt finished! I love the custom embroidery design you made with the flowers. :) I also did the sashing with blocks in the corner (maybe you saw the photoshop tests on Jennie's post) and I really loved the result. Good luck with the finish!

My son was playing with his fisher price record player (technically mine from when I was little!) and he was playing 'twinkle twinkle' over and over. Then he stopped, told me he had a surprise song for me... and played it again.
