WiP Wednesday

WIP Wednesday at Freshly Pieced
Wednesday again. Some things were done, some things not so much. Let's see where we stand. And don't forget to check everybody out over at Lee's.
After trials and tribulations, block number 1 is done for Leila's Skill Builder Sampler.

You can read about my fun with that one on that on yesterday's post here. I will say, I like it now that it's done.
I also got a bit farther on some hexie work.
Haven't made any more flowers since the other day but I'm going to start making some white ones soon to separate the ones I have. And I'm further on my red and white hexie one.

Only the one surrounded in red on the left is still not competely sewn yet. But I'm excited as it comes together. I'm getting lots of hexies done while the kids are at swim lessons, but it sure is hot in there!
Earlier in the week, I also finished my first block for Embroidery 101.

As far as ongoing projects go, I wanted to get the quilting done on my X Marks the Spot quilt but I only just picked up the batting yesterday so I'm a bit behind on that one. My plan is to get that sandwiched this morning before swim classes again.
So I got a lot done on several new projects but didn't finish anything old. Isn't that always the way?
Oh yeah, and I'll be hitting 100 posts in about a week so stay tuned for a giveaway!

Love your hexies, they are addictive aren;t they, and so portable.
I'm going to watch the Skill Builder from the sidelines.
Love your embroidery block, it's really pretty.

I love how your hexie flowers are looking. I'm intrigued to see how the red/white comes out.

Your SBS block looks so different since you went with the courthouse steps, at first I was trying to figure out what sampler you were talking about! I like the variation though, it's a little different from the log cabins everybody else has been doing. I'm still trying to decide which I want to do.

The embroidery on the last block is really beautiful! I haven't joined the Hexie making club yet, but I anticipate lots of sitting around in my future when the baby gets here, so I just may be joining soon!

The hexagon flowers are adorable! I really like the portable hand sewing...makes me feel like I'm accomplishing something when out and have some time.

I love the contrast between the fabrics on your Court House Steps block. And your red and white hexies have me wishing for more patience when it comes to hand sewing!
