Quilt Block Play!

So I was messing around with Leila's challenge today to used your Skill Builder fabric to design your own block. This is one I actually did for a quilt. Nothing magnanimous but I thought I'd use it for the challenge because I still had to figure out the math to make it be the right size.
Here is the drawing I was goofing around with.
I started putting it together and was a little frustrated that I hadn't used the orange in the center instead of the green.
No, that's not a defect on the green fabric; it is the sheen of my table bouncing back from my flash.
Anyway, I decided that since I hadn't actually sewn the two halves together I would see what else we could do. Like this...

Or this...
Or this...

I will probably still do my original design, but it was fun to play around with it in the mid stages.

I like the first like this. It is so interesting and different.

All three are great, but the third one is my favorite. You can't go wrong with whichever one you choose, though. :)

Great design, I like all the variations. It's amazing how many different patterns you can come up with HST's. The last one is really interesting, I'd like to see that made into a quilt.

Isn't it fun playing with all the possibilities! I know you sewed it up how you were planning, but I think the bottom configuration is a lot of fun too. It looks giant, two-toned, flying geese. :)
