Finishes...Woohoo!

My first finish in the bag is my donation quilt for 100 Quilts for Kids.
I used the pattern available on the site, the Storytime Squares tutorial by Rae Hoekstra. This is the front...
and this is the back. I just pieced together the remainder of the fabrics. I did add one small block like that on the front because I had some pieces.

I used the same quilt idea to do a baby quilt for my friend. I have spoken a lot about this on my blog, so just in case you missed it, dad is Japanese/American so I used Japanese fairy tale prints. Mom's family is from Austria so I used Moda Hideaway to give that Austrian village look to it.
Here's the front...

and here's the back.

I know it's hard to see but I outline quilted around edges and did a window pane in the center. There is no line down the center; that's just a crease from where it was folded. I did a close-up shot of the backing material. We have fairy tales, and fairy tale villages on the front, and nursery rhymes on the back.

Sorry, I was taking pictures of it at night. Also, ignore the extra thread on the left! I did the binding in the nursery rhyme fabric as well. I'm so excited! Now I have to wait until the end of October for a shower. Darn! I got done to soon!

These are both very beautiful! I love how you blended the heritages of the parents into one quilt. Fabulous work! Love the colors on the charity quilt, too.
