Button, Button, Who's Got the Button?

I FINALLY found a tutorial that got my button working. I'm very excited! Thanks so much to Lily's Quilts and her wonderful tutorial for how to make a grab button for your blog! So, if there is anyone out there who is interested, I finally have a working button for the quilt along!

I have also been working hard on that red and white hexagon quilt. It has been very interesting doing this type of quilt. I came up with my original center and secondary designs, I have an idea of how I'm going to tackle the outside, but I'm really just winging it as I go. I know where everything will be, approximately. But I don't have a road map for exactly where to place each piece. I keep putting them on my comforter on my queen sized bed so I have a general idea of how much bigger it needs to be.

Because I don't know exactly how many hexies it's going to take, I started keeping a bar graph on the sidebar of my blog. It's cool to give myself a general idea as to how many hexies are going into this quilt. I was amazed when I originally counted and found that I'd already done 700. Slowly but surely!
