I finished the quillow at about 9:00 last night. It turned out cute. I probably would have come up with some better fabric had I had time and if we had an LQS, but it's done, it's purple and I think a 4 year old will like it.
I used some of my embroidery skills I've been improving on the Embroidery 101 quiltalong to stitch her name and some little loops. Since it's a princess party, I added a little crown above the C in her name.
I just used a font from my computer and freehanded her name onto the pillow part with my Ink B Gone pen.
I used a pale purple flannel with tiny white polka dots for the other side.
Once you unfold it, you can see the quilted side of the quilt. I put my pocket on the flannel side so that she could warm her feet on the soft side and the quilt side could be for show.
I forgot to get a picture of the flannel side with the pocket when it's unfolded. I'll try to get it when she opens it today. I only did enough quilting on it to keep the batting from moving. Very minimal. I wanted it to be soft and squishy so that it would fit well into the pillow case. Now, on to the Christmas quilt and cutting out squares for the Fussy Cut Swap!
