Busy Bees Make Sweet Success!

Okay, so I finished the quillow for the party. Now, I'm almost finished with the Christmas quilt. Which means... I now have time to start my Diamond Chains quiltalong! I will be posting the first main information about it tomorrow. I know! I'm sorry, but things kind of got away from me and some things HAD to be finished by deadlines. I will be finishing the quilting on the Christmas quilt today, posting the first information on the quiltalong and binding the Christmas quilt tomorrow, and then I will be posting two tutorials for the block involved in the quilt. You can choose the method you wish to use. Then I might breathe for a minute or two...or twelve.

In the meantime, I picked up my Amy Butler fabric my friend Jo got for me at the yard sale. I'm so excited! I started pulling piping off one of my chairs yesterday. Tell me this; why is that an attempt to remove ugly fabric is similar to trying to break into Fort Knox?  I think there have to be about 75 staples in the back of this one chair alone. Unreal. And they are attached tightly. Very tightly. I'm having quite a time getting them out. I think the upholsters who originally did this REALLY liked the fabric; or they really didn't like me. I may just say bump it and just cover over the existing fabric after removing the piping. I wasn't planning on redoing the piping anyway. I think these chairs could really do with an update though. Don't ya think?
How do you like that stain near the top? Nice, huh? And here's a close-up of that print.

Yeah, it's just not me. At all. But this is...

Can't wait to get one finished so I can post it! And check back tomorrow for my quiltalong info! I'm attempting to make a button but that's not coming along well either. I'm having trouble with the code. If anyone has a great tutorial for this, let me know!

Your chairs are going to look great! Is there such a thing as a giant furniture staple remover?

I also wanted to say that I love your personal due dates thingoo in your sidebar, and I totally stole your idea for mine. :D

I recovered the dining room chairs years ago. I just stapled new fabric over the old fabric. It worked great (and that was in 1995).
